In the first place let me greet you in the name of Jesus Christ.

My name is Safari Cecile. I am 20 years old and a Congolese by nationality. I have one child.

I was a student in primary seven but my father is old and very sick most of the time so I stopped my education.

I had a mother that I would call my heroine. She worked hard in digging and keeping the family for years since we came to the camp and she able to sustain our family. Due to the heavy work and poor life my mother got sick and was admitted to the Hoima government hospital. She spent two days without any treatment given to her and on the third day she died. I am sure if she was attended to she would have lived for more years but she died of malaria that could have been treated. I understand that poverty kills and since you are fighting it you help us live long.

After all this there was a man whose family was also traumatized because their father was burnt alive when all children were watching. Because of this most of the family became disorganized and hopeless. This man joined me and helped me to look after the 4 younger children that my mother had left in my hands. Later we decided to marry each other so that we can help both families.

May mother taught me how to make business and all this time I have been buying and selling pineapples, avocados, cooking oil, ground nuts and others. I have helped many orphans and my business has helped my family too.

Someone said that for an object to move in another position it must have a force to push it ahead. For me to move I need your help. I saw how you helped my sister-in-law Stephania Nyirabagene. She was able to start a business, opened a shop, and now she is at school. Though she was raped you made her strong and developed her.

This is the reason why I am writing this application because your help and my business skills can take me to another step. I know you love poor women and suffering families. Since you have made many to live I also have hope in your programs. I am sure that I will be able to pay back the loan and the interest in one year.

My budget is as follows:

  • Livestock (piggery) - 2 pigs: 40,000sh
  • Rice farming (40 by 40 meters): 60,000sh
  • Seeds: 20,000sh
Total loan requested: 120,000sh

May God bless you and use you and your husband to be the solution to our communities’ problems. And be a mother for a better future and life in my family.

Yours faithfully, Safari Cecile
